It’s easy to assume that with fashion heavy weights such as Prada and Moshino under his belt that Pep might be an unapproachable man. That upon entering his store, the essential stop in men’s fashion accessories, you may be greeted with a fortress of hip or the cold air of high fashion. In fact, it is exactly the opposite. What you find rather, is a warm and humble, self proclaimed fashion victim, more than happy to spend his time walking you through his store.
The Outpost is exactly what he set out to create. After an extensive resume in Italian fashion, Pep returned to Barcelona, using his contacts to establish a ‘living room’ style shop with an unseen collection of personally selected and unique accessories. Its a candy shop for any man and a place definitely understated in its interest in the evolution of fashion and modern designers.
One of is personal favorites is London born shoe designer Mr. Hare. A man who blends the new with the classical to create his own well established style. Or the urban spin on traditional clothes of Japanese/American company Engineered Garments. There is an obvious love of diversity in the store and it is reflected in it’s mix in aesthetics, such as products from long standing Swedish brand Fjallraven and many, many more.
The Outpost is the perfect store to add that touch of detail to any wardrobe or if you’re looking for that something that no one else has. Make no mistake about it, The Outpost is high end, but the air around it is inviting. When asked what he thought was the ultimate fashion accessory every man should have, he replied ‘a smile’. It seems that some things money just cant buy.
